Report about my journey to Kenya (7th till 26th of March 2008)
The last two years I was with Rainer Frohms in Mozambique and God gave me a loving heart for the people there. This year Rainer heard from God to go to Kenya. In the first moments I was dissapointed because I wanted to meet my friends in Maputo. But after some days I got joy to go with Rainer. In January/February when the Kenyans had trouble because of the election some people of our team canceled their plan to come with us to Kenya. But God gave me great peace and courage and on 7th of March we started to Nairobi: Rainer and his 12 years old daughter Vivian, a friend from our church Angela and me. We lived for the next 10 days in the very nice Menonite
Guesthouse in Nairobi and worked together with a German couple, who live since 8 years in Kenya and lead a Sudamese Church. The first days Rainer went to another church to preach the gospel on the street and we three women went into this Sudanese Church. On Saturday afternoon (8th of March) we did the children lesson at church and Henry, a 30 years old Kenyan pastor of the church, translated our English and helped the children to understand our message. We talked about a robberboy Tom, who was adopted by a king and was overwhelmed by the love and the kindness in the kingdom. The children were really hungry for the love of our Father/King and we prayed for each of them. GodŽs presence was there. After the childrenŽs lesson I felt that we should pray for Henry also and so we did. We felt the peace of God resting on him. I was very thankful for this afternoon because I learnt that God is giving strength, because on that Saturday I didnŽt have any strength. On Sunday in the morning service there were some people who shared their message which was on their hearts. Henry told the church about our prayer for him yesterday and that God did something new in his life. I was very astonished about this and got curious about this man and what God did to him yesterday. In the service I had the opportunity to tell the people whatŽs on my heart. With great joy I told about the FatherŽs love (thatŽs why I was in Kenya) and at the end of the service we prayed for everyone. A lady wept in my arms for a long time and I felt GodŽs comfort for her. Henry told me later that he didnŽt expect our prayer because he never got a prayer after a ministry and so he was very surprised. He felt a deep peace and God touched him in his inner being. So through this he became attentive to me and knew that I have a heart to pray with compassion for others. Through him God strengthened me and my gift of intecession.
In the afternoon I went with two others to a Somali homemeeting. Because of becoming christians they are persecuted by their relatives. They need encouragement. We had a wonderful exchange about the love of Christ to us, his bride. We prayed for each other and God spoke through prophetic impressions.
The next four days were filled with some ministries in the Sudanese Church: We visited the christian-sudanese schoolclass of 10 children, a homemeeting and had a food distribution for Kenyan refugees. Rainer preached the gospel and we prayed for handicapped people. These people were very open to recive GodŽs word and his love. During our prayers some miracules happened: A baby was set free of demonic oppression, an epileptic man came into healing and some of these handicapped were really happy to be touched by the Holy Spirit, they just showed joy and thankfulness.
After that we had a FatherŽs-Love-Conference in a big church of Nairobi. The love of our Father is a very important message. Many Kenyans have deep wounds inside because they didnŽt experience the love of their earthly father and itŽs therefore difficult for them to feel the love of the heavenly Father. They were really hungry for GodŽs love and even itŽs hard for them they could allow themselves to feel the pain because of having no loving father. God did his wonderful work to heal this pain and to get most of them filled with his love. We were very thankful to see this happen. It showed us that the message of FatherŽs love is going through all the world.
After this conference we went to Nakuru, a city 200 km northwest from Nairobi. Rainer took a 28 years old Kenyan man named Dennis with us. He knew him from two years ago. So we had a good guide and an interpreter. God is so good because he helped Dennis to overcome mistrust and to tell me about his life and fears and we both had some good times of counseling. Every time when I am in Africa I am very thankful that God is giving me the opportunity to counsel people even in spite of differences in cuture and language.
In Nakuru we had again a FatherŽs-Love-Conference with some very hungry pastors and it was great to see how the Father ministered his love to them. We also had some ministries with street boys and God did healings on the street.
Some hours before I left Nakuru I had the chance to visit a Special School. It is on the headmasterŽs
heart to build up a boarding school for handicapped children. These children are hidden in the houses and often neglected by their relatives because of shame and donŽt get school education. The headmaster wants to bring these children to the boarding school so that they can come out of isolation. During my short visit there I had the idea to invite him to my school for physically and mentally handicapped children in Hannover so that he can have a further education in this subject. My school-headmaster agreed to this idea and now he will visit our school and me from 6th of June till 20th of June 08. I am looking forward to his visit because we can learn from each other a lot. It will be interesting which impressions he will have about my school and the children.
During my stay in Nakuru God put Henry and his wife on my heart. It was so intense that I began to ask God what he wants to tell me about them. But there was no clear answer. I just knew that God wants to build something special with them and me. I had the idea that I meet them in Nairobi before I have to leave Kenya to wait upon the Lord and to share what he has told us in the meantime. Dennis guided me to Nairobi and we had a wonderful meeting with Henry and his wife. We shared what God told us and became aware that he wants us to be a team with others (he will show us) to spread the gospel in Kenya. That was quite to big for my understanding because I donŽt know how it will be possible for me to live in Kenya. But we yielded our lifes under the will of God. Then there was this overwhelming atmosphere of GodŽs peace and holiness in the room, wonderful. I took this peace with me to Germany and since I am here in Germany I have a new confidence that God is doing something new in my life. For me it is also great to experience the acceptance and love the Kenyans show me. We stay in a continuous contact by e-mail and phone.
I will go to Nairobi and Nakuru again in my summer-holidays (14th till 29th of July 2008) to do a seminar about the bride of Christ and to build up the relations to these Kenyans. A friend of mine is coming with me and while I planned this new jouney to Kenya I felt the guidance and goodness of the Lord in this. God is sooo good and I am really overwhelmed how he takes his children into his plans and guides them to do greater things than before. He is enlarging our imaginations and gives us new dreams to fulfill them. THANK YOU, FATHER!
